200-hour Teacher Training Faculty
Anna Hughes
Learn MoreAnna Hughes
When Anna Hughes first started studying yoga in college, it seemed a natural progression from the dance she studied and adored for the first eighteen years of her life. Anna completed her 500-hour Bikram teacher training in 2002, and began teaching full time immediately. Since that time, Anna has explored Ashtanga Yoga extensively, studying with the wonderful David Swenson as well as Todd Roderick, one of the Southeast’s most renowned Ashtanga Yoga instructors. It was in 2003 when she began studying Bhakti Flow with Rusty Wells that she was truly introduced to the idea of integrating the physical and spiritual practices of yoga and her teaching has evolved to embrace this concept.Anna’s study of various systems of yoga has led her to a greater understanding of yoga as a whole. In her own teaching, she emphasizes a connection with the breath as well as mindfulness, contentment and a healthy sense of humor. Her experience with yoga has inspired her to infuse her teaching with the idea of finding joy in one’s practice while challenging the body, mind, and spirit. Her vinyasa classes are vigorous and playful, creatively sequenced, and always include a great soundtrack.

I have always been fascinated with the interactions between the the body and mind, and have always known that this was my dharma. This is reflected in my studies in Exercise Physiology as well as Psychology, and my doctorate in Physical Therapy. I have since specialized in treating the pelvic floor and chronic pain.
After obtaining my doctorate, I attended a yoga class and appreciated the physical benefits of the practice as well as the emotional and spiritual aspect that is absent from a regular “workout”. I obtained my yoga certification RYT-200 in 2015. With this training, I was introduced to the physiological benefits of the quiet, restful, supported practice of restorative yoga.
I now use the connection of these two disciplines to empower my clients to build physical awareness and to minimize and prevent injuries with the knowledge given. As a yogi, I incorporate an individualized holistic approach to treatment: addressing the body, mind and spirit. As a Physiotherapist, I am able to inform these offerings with the science of movement, biomechanics, kinesiology and anatomy.
Erin Gilmore
Learn MoreErin Gilmore
I’m a San Francisco-based teacher with a unique modern style and specialty in trauma-informed yoga. My teaching vibe is Pilates meets dance meets yoga, and I serve all people with my teaching. This is to teach you about symbiosis between your body and mind by letting your body just GO with it. It's a blend of shake your booty music and calming, steady, strong beats to set you up for your day/week/life.
You'll hear a few quotes that are earnest and meaningful (often leaning toward modern day sages like Oprah, Glennon, and Brene). There's a big focus on body acceptance, moving away from your ego (aka performing, or doing any of this to look a certain way), and the power of “NO!” You’re in charge at all times. What you say goes. Mostly, this is a space to practice feeling what you're really feeling in the midst of a challenging flow, surrounded by a loving community.

Tanya Clark
Learn MoreTanya Clark
Tanya discovered the practice of Yoga in 2011 at Yoga Flow on Union while she was coaching college basketball in San Francisco. It was one of the only ways for her to decompress and destress. Once she retired in 2016 she took a deep dive into her yoga practice, Tanya went on a journey to obtain her yoga teaching credentials at Yoga Tree SF. As her yoga journey continued throughout the years, she became part owner and operator of several yoga studios in The City. With that experience, she learned more about people, patience and perseverance.
You can expect Tanya’s classes to be light hearted and fun with a good balance of effort and ease. She believes that everybody’s body is different and honors that by encouraging students to explore the asanas in a way that feels best for them. Her goal is to be the guide to her student's practice and lead them through a safe class in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Music is a big part of her class! From hip-hop instrumental beats to soulful covers, you might find yourself singing along during your practice.
“I’m honored and grateful to be able to teach at the studio where I first practiced yoga! The community is nothing short of amazing and every time I teach, it fills my cup”
