Laura Burkhart is known for her intelligent, thoughful, creative flows. We welcome you to join us for her upcoming 16-hour training on September 18th and 19th, 2021. This training is focusing on Refining Alignment and Injury Prevention in the major groups of poses. Consisting of four sessions, each session consists of a practice to offer you new insight and awareness into the poses and a workshop on that group of poses, diving deeper into the alignment and injury prevention.
For those of you who want to attend the whole weekend, you'll receive 16 hour CEC certificate and an incredible connection to the teachings and community!
This training can be taken in the following formats:
Full 16 Hour Training: $300
One Day Only, either Saturday or Sunday: $160
AM or PM Session for Saturday OR Sunday: $85
Each time slot is also offered as a one-off workshop: $45

SATURDAY AM SESSION
Sun Salutations. “Get the Most out of Sun Salutation Asanas”
In this practice, we’ll take time to feel out traditional alignment, as well as updated refined alignment of certain cornerstone asanas to make the practice safer, less injury prone, to help you get the maximum benefit from these postures.
Sun Salutations. “Refine Your Practice + Yoga Injury Prevention Tips”
It’s important to move in a way that minimizes potential injury and maximizes the longevity of your yoga practice. During this workshop, through powerpoint and exploration, we’ll dive deeper look at the alignment and anatomy of sun salutations postures, plus learn how and how and why some of the alignment of these postures have been updated. Learn how to make the overall safer both you as a teacher and practitioner.
SATURDAY PM SESSION
Standing Postures. "Better Foundation, Better Alignment”
Standing postures are a staple of the practice but when performed in a way that doesn’t line up with our anatomy, they can become injury prone. Let’s take a moment to really feel out traditional alignment versus slight tweaks to these asanas so we can maximum benefit, and increase the longevity of our practice.

Standing Postures.“Refine Your Practice + Yoga Injury Prevention Tips”
Though the practice of yoga can be a healthy, overtime, traditional alignment for certain postures can potentially cause more harm than good. We’ll examine the tweaks we can make to poses so they are more anatomically sound. It’s important to move in a way that minimizes potential injuries and maximizes the longevity of your yoga practice.
SUNDAY AM SESSION
Backbends. “Feel Good Backbend Practice. Keep Your Back Happy.”
During this all-levels practice, we’ll gradually flow into deeper and deeper shoulder, thoracic spine, hip flexor and quadricep openers leading to deeper and deeper backbends. We’ll feel out better alignment for these opening postures as well as how to find ease in backbends. We will round out the practice by lengthening the hamstrings, opening the hips and twisting the spine.
Backbends. “Refine Your Practice + Yoga Injury Prevention Tips”
During this workshop we’ll focus on refining your alignment to have more ease in backbends and learn why some people find it easier than others go into deeper variations of this posture. We’ll explore three types of backbends through powerpoint and exploration and tips on how to practice them in a way that can be healthier for your anatomical structure.
SUNDAY PM SESSION
1:30pm - 3:30pm
Twists. “A New Way to Twist It”
During this all-levels Twist practice, we’ll feel out traditional alignment verses more anatomically sound alignment as we gradually flow into deeper and deeper twists. Minor tweaks in certain asanas can make all the difference in the longevity of our yoga practice. Come flow and explore.
Twists. “Refine Your Practice + Yoga Injury Prevention Tips”
During this workshop we’ll focus on refining your alignment plus injury prevention tips for twists. We’ll take time through PowerPoint and exploration as to why these changes can be better for the overall health of your pelvis and spine. Come learn how to minimize potential injuries and maximize the longevity of your yoga practice.
