The Acalanes Ridge Open Space is a beautiful mountain top with scenic views of the entire Bay Area. A small, but steep trail leads you up to the ridge for an easy hike through oak woodlands and chaparral. The terrain allows for many varying levels of difficulty so it’s perfect for hikers at any level.

The Acalanes South Trail is one of three trails in this open space that can be accessed from different parking lots on Las Juntas Road. It has some great views, including the Mission Peak Regional Preserve, Mt Diablo State Park, and Mount Hamilton in Santa Clara County. Come explore this spectacular area.
