School Common Core Standards
Monroe Elementary School Monroe’s academic curriculum is designed to prepare students for college.
Monroe has a 100% graduation rate and 99% move on to higher education after attending Monroe. Monroe prepares its students with many different resources not only academically but also socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively as well. The school offers tutoring in all subjects before or after school so that students can get additional help if they need it. Monroe also provides enrichment courses through dance, music, visual art/drama classes during lunchtime Monday-Friday so that students have an opportunity to participate in something other than academics while still at school.
Monroe Elementary School teachers and staff built the Monroe curriculum to prepare students for not only college but life as well. They created a program with many different after-school activities which include visual art, drama, music, and dance classes; sports such as soccer and basketball; robotics club; a business group where they learn about entrepreneurship such as creating their small businesses.

Monroe Elementary School is 16 to one, which is far below the state average of 19. It has a strong emphasis on critical thinking skills and technical education opportunities for students in their everyday learning experiences. Students are given many opportunities to utilize technology through interactive whiteboards, laptops with internet access, iPads, SMART boards, and more.
