What we say matters and

although language is probably the most important tool we have to connect with others, especially as teachers, we are not always aware of the power in the words we choose. Learn Nonviolent Communication skills in the “real world” as applied in your life and in your classes. Learn language as a form of your spiritual practice!

This training is especially recommended for yoga teachers and serious students of yoga.

Language as a Form of Spiritual Practice and more...

In this teacher training, we’ll examine how the words we use with students, family, and friends affect our relationships. Then in the afternoon, we will practice Restorative yoga, both for our own stress reduction and well-being, but also so that Judith can demonstrate how she uses
Nonviolent Communication skills in the “real world” of actually teaching yoga.

  1. How can we ask for what we want in ways that help us get it?
  2. How can we disagree with someone and still stay in connection with self and the other person?
  3. What does it sound like to speak from the concept of satya, truth?
  4. How do we deal with conflicts with family, students, at work?
  5. Pose details & proper form designed to help you deepen your practice, know the script and help you to understand what your students are doing, also called, ‘seeing the body’.

Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D., P.T., has taught yoga since 1971 in almost all 50 states and on six continents. She is a a founder of Yoga Journal Magazine, holds a Senior Teaching Certificate given to her directly from B.K.S.
